MAVENCO Celebrates 26 Years of Service and 2nd Representative Assembly

The Mandaue City Public Market Vendors Multipurpose Cooperative (MAVENCO) reached another remarkable milestone as it celebrated its 26th Anniversary and 2nd Representative Assembly at the MAAYO HOTEL Grand Ball Room on March 29, 2025. With the heartfelt theme “Sa kalisod ug kaharuhay, MAVENCO anaa kanunay”, the event gathered cooperative members and institutional partners for a meaningful day of reflection, recognition, and forward planning.

 

The celebration commenced at 8:00 AM with the registration of attendees, followed by a Thanksgiving Mass at 9:00 AM, solemnly officiated by Rev. Fr. Rolly Tabo, MOP, as an expression of gratitude for the cooperative’s enduring journey and accomplishments.

 

The Opening Ceremonies included a processional featuring the National Anthem, the Cooperative Pledge, and a symbolic Candle Lighting, narrated by Mr. Joabet Lugo, setting a tone of unity and solemnity. MAVENCO BOD Chairperson Fatima Rupita then delivered a warm and inspiring Welcome Address, opening the day’s program with optimism and purpose.

 

Attendees were captivated by an audio-visual presentation that recounted MAVENCO’s humble beginnings and continued growth. This was followed by an inspirational message from CDA R7 Regional Director, Cristina H. Villamil, which was delivered on her behalf by Gloria V. Barrido. Her words further energized and encouraged the members.

 

Adding excitement to the event were the raffle draws, held throughout the program to keep the crowd engaged. A congratulatory message was also delivered by Faith Labandero on behalf of Mr. Inocentes Y. Ypanto Jr., AVP and Head of the Cebu North Lending Center of the Land Bank of the Philippines, reaffirming the cooperative’s strong partnerships with key institutions.

 

Chairperson Fatima Rupita returned to the stage to introduce the Keynote Speaker, Atty. Nenita S. Ceniza-Layese, OIC of the Mandaue City Cooperative Development Office. Her message, delivered by Julie Ann Bongo, inspired attendees to preserve the spirit of cooperation amidst evolving times and challenges.

 

In a touching tribute, the assembly honored outstanding members with special awards, recognizing Early Birds, 2024 Top Depositors, recipients of the Longevity Award, and the Aflatoun Top Depositor. These acknowledgments highlighted the members’ invaluable contributions to the cooperative’s continued success.

 

Before the afternoon session began, guests enjoyed another raffle draw and a delightful lunch program, which featured performances by MAVENCO’s Performing Arts Guild Dance Troupe and Cebu Ores, adding a festive touch to the day’s proceedings.
The Business Proper followed in the afternoon, where important cooperative matters and strategic plans were discussed, and reinforcing MAVENCO’s commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and sustainable development.

 

The 26th Anniversary and 2nd Representative Assembly stood not only as a celebration of MAVENCO’s longevity but also as a powerful reminder of its dedication to uplifting and empowering its members. As MAVENCO looks ahead, it remains steadfast in its mission of solidarity, progress, and unwavering service to the community.
