On October 21, 2024, MAVENCO (Mandaue City Public Market Vendors Multipurpose Cooperative), MCCDC (Mandaue City Cooperative Development Council), and other local cooperatives of Mandaue came together to organize the “Day Mo, Care Ko” to support the children of Umapad Day Care Center within the Mandaue Green Learning Park. The partnership held a feeding program and distributed school supplies to help ensure the children’s well-being and educational success.
The feeding program provided nutritious meals, promoting better health and focus for learning, while the donation of school supplies such as notebooks, pens, and pencils, gave the children the tools they need for their studies. Many of the children come from underserved backgrounds, and these donations are crucial in making education more accessible to them.
This successful initiative demonstrates the impact of community collaboration. Through the combined efforts of MAVENCO, MCCDC, and local cooperatives, we’ve not only provided essential support to the children of Umapad Day Care but also contributed to a stronger, more united community. By working together, we can ensure that every child has the resources they need to succeed, paving the way for a brighter future for all.
